Ever wonder why maybe you have a little bit too much soot coming from your flame? Or maybe a little bit (or a lot a bit) of black residue on the vessel of your candle? Ever wonder why the candle may be burning too quickly or unevenly, or even that the gorgeous aroma is not as gorgeous as it was when newly lit?
Something as simple as getting that wick trimmed (but not too short!) will severely improve the overall quality of your beautiful FMN soy candle.
Follow these tips and you’ll see a lot of these quirks disappear!
- Wooden Wicks require trimming after each burn to light and burn most successfully
- When trimming, be sure not to cut the wick too low, as you don’t want it to be drowned out.
- Be sure to trim the burn excess wood off to around 1/8" - 3/16" after each burn.
- If you do not have a wick trimmer, no problem, we have one for you, check out our Golden Wick Trimmer. Or, you can easily pinch off the burnt part of the wick using a napkin, leaving the remaining wood ready to be lit.
Happy candle lighting!
